I had the distinct pleasure of attending the wedding of my friends Cory and Athena as both a guest and photographer. The day went very well, and I know they’ll have a wonderful marriage! Congratulations Cory and Athena!
Now, onto the photography…

Hey everybody,
So I’m migrating over from my old blog and have this fancy new layout thanks to Jared over at Prophoto. I’ve backdated this post a bit to add a few of my recent weddings. I have some awesome pictures to post and be ready for some beautiful, emotional, artistic photography….
Also, my new website, complete with portfolio and wedding package information, is coming along and should be around in late August.
This past Spring, I had the good fortune of being hired by the Lumen Christi Institute to photograph a number of events. Now that I have more time to devote to my blog, I plan on posting pictures from those events periodically.
The first was Prof. Daniel Robinson of Oxford University, who’s gave a lecture entitled, “What is it Like to Be a Human Being?” Naturally, photographing a lecture leaves less time to listen, but from what I was able to hear I enjoyed. Have a look at the pictures below:
Rumors are swirling that Canon will release an update the venerable 5D, the top-notch wedding photographer’s camera body of choice. While much of the speculation is completely unwarranted, some it has decent credibility.
For example, Canon’s high-end cameras are on 3 year product cycles, and the 5d’s is just about up. The most likely date for the release of the 5D is Photokina 2008, where Canon often announces new products. This would happen in September.
Still not convinced? Have a look at his Google cache, which catches a website mistakenly displaying a 5D Mk II filed guide:
What specs might the 5D have? Most of the stuff posted in forums along the lines of ‘hey guys look what I found but have no evidence to substantiate’ goes something like this:
- 15.3 MP full frame CMOS sensor (vastly improved light-gathering capacity per pixel: improved micro lenses; miniaturized micro circuitry; enhanced signal/noise ratio)
- ISO 12800 (C.F. up to 25600)
- All-new 29-point TTL CMOS sensor with 12 cross-type
- Live View
- DIGIC III
Are these stats to be believed? Well, they would put the 5D up to par with Nikon’s D3. And for that reason, they are plausible.
