Movie Review: Bride Wars

Being a wedding photographer, I felt a professional obligation to go see that new movie Bride Wars. Thankfully, I was able to drag a few of my girlfriends along (thanks Teresa, Margy and Thuc), so  I didn’t have to be a guy going by myself to a chick flick.

I have to admit I enjoyed myself. The movie was humorous and the plot held my attention. Both Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway delivered solid acting performances, convincingly playing the ‘rival bride’ role. Their comical antics and competitive interchanges made the movie enjoyable.

I am often asked whether I have any ‘bridezillas’, and I always say I have fantastic brides and I have never used that term to describe anyone :) . On one occasion, a fellow photographer referred to a mother of the bride as a ‘momzilla’, but hey that was him, not me :) .

I have to warn potential moviegoers that his movie contains no references to wedding photographers. Sad times. Other than this obvious and crucial omission, I am happy to recommend this movie. If wedding planning has got you a little stressed out, take some time to relax and go see Bride Wars for some comic relief, and realize things could be worse…Ha!

Wedding Off-Season Blues…

It’s that time of year again. Wedding season is slowing down in Seattle. Though I’ll average about a wedding a month before things start to pick up a lot in June, it will get a little slower around here. In the meanwhile, Visit My-Wedding-Blog.com for all of your Wedding. I’ll try to keep things updated with talk about photography here and there. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy our dreary northwest winter….

Cassidy and Kenya | Wedding Photography | Seattle

Cassidy and Kenye got married on New Years eve at the Lake Union Cafe. I must say, restaurants are getting more and more popular as wedding venues and this one is fantastic. The atmosphere is low key and elegant. The lights look beautiful, especially when they go out of focus in the background.

Though a New Year’s wedding is obviously a lot of fun, this was one time I was glad I got out a little early :) . I was able to make it to a couple parties afterwards, and phew, I’m exhausted….
